There is a wide range of benefits you might be able to claim that could help pay your rent, council tax or other expenses.

This includes housing benefit, council tax benefit, job seeker’s allowance, pension credit and income support.

Other organisation can also give advice, such as your local Citizens Advice service or Credit Union. Credit unions encourage you to save what you can, and only borrow what you can afford to pay back.
